Kochava
This guide provides detailed instructions for setting up and managing your Kachava campaigns by configuring Digital Turbine as a partner, setting up postbacks for installation events, defining lookback windows for attribution, and establishing cost tracking connections to track your campaign performance.
Set up a campaign and tracker in the Kochava console.
Configure Digital Turbine as a Kochava partner.
Configure postbacks for events such as installations.
Configure lookback windows for attribution.
Configure cost tracking connections.
Create a Campaign and Tracker
To create a campaign and add a tracker:
From the Kochava console, on the left panel, go to Engagement→Campaign Manager.
From the Select App dropdown list, select your app. The Campaign Manager section for the app appears.
To add a campaign, in the Campaign column, click + Add. The Add Campaign window appears.
Enter the Name and Default Destination URL and click Add.
To add a segment, in the Segments column, click + Add. The Add Segment window appears.
Enter the Name and Description and click Add.
In Kochava, trackers must be linked to both a campaign and a segment. This is automatically defaulted by the platform.
To add a Tracker, in the Trackers column, click + Add. The Add Tracker window appears.
Enter your tracker Name.
Enter Digital Turbine here or follow your naming convention for trackers.
From the Tracker Type dropdown, select
Acquisition.From the Media Partner dropdown list, select one of the following:
Digital Turbine – Android
Digital Turbine – iOS
Note
iOS campaigns where probabilistic matching is desired require specific privacy settings:
Go to Apps & Assets→Privacy Profiles. The Privacy Profiles section opens.
To add a privacy profile, click Add a Profile, or to edit a privacy profile, click ⋮ and then select Edit. The privacy profile window appears.
Enter the Name and Description as required.
In the Settings area, enable the Collect toggle for User Agent.
Set the IP Address and User Agent attribution to Paid & Owned Media.
Click Save.

Check the SHARE WITH PUBLISHER checkbox.
Leave Destination URL settings as default.
Click Save & Create Postback.
Copy the Click URL and Impression URL from the Tracker details panel and send them to your Digital Turbine representative.
Set Up Partner Configuration
To set up a partner configuration:
Go to Apps & Assets→Partner Configuration.
From the Select App dropdown list, select your app.
To add a Configuration, click + Add a Configuration. The Add Configuration window appears.
From the Media Partner dropdown list, select one of the following:
Digital Turbine – Android
Digital Turbine – iOS
Click Save. The added Partner appears.
Set Up Postbacks
DT requires you to set up the following postbacks for the following events:
SessionBegin
Install
Any event used for a KPI or optimization, for example, purchase, level reached, or first delivery.
DT recommends you set up postbacks for the following events:
Any event used for secondary KPIs.
Any event used for upper funnel metrics that are leading indicators of primary KPIs, for example, registration, tutorial complete, or add to cart.
To set up postbacks:
Go to Apps & Assets→Partner Configuration.
From the Select App dropdown list, select your app and then click the icon with two arrows (
).
A list of postbacks appears.

Select the required postback and click the Edit icon. The Edit Postback window appears.

In the App Store ID field, enter the app store identifier. For Android apps, enter the bundle ID. For example, enter
com.games.myfungame. For iOS apps, enter the Apple App ID. For example, if your iOS App ID isID1234567890, enter1234567890.
You must enter an App Store ID in order for DT to process the postback correctly.
If there is a ROAS target, toggle the Send Revenue Value option
ONfor events with a revenue value, such as,purchase,adview, orcheckout.In the Event Name field, enter a name for the postback event.
Digital Turbine Event Names
Digital Turbine machine learning algorithms rely on standard event names to improve ad targeting, optimization, measurement, and insights. For best results, use these names for event mapping:

You can add an arbitrary event name if there's no suitable name on this list for an event. However, make sure there are no spaces and special characters in it other than the underscore (_).
Configure the following settings as shown below.

Ensure that the Respect Data Controlled flag option is toggled
OFF.Click Save. The configured postbacks now appear below each app.
Repeat Steps 3-9 for each postback you want to configure.
Set Up Lookback Windows
To set up lookback windows for proper attribution:
Go to Apps & Assets→Partner Configuration, click the ⋮ icon for your app, and select Reconciliation. The Reconciliation window appears.
To customize the reconciliation settings, select the Enable Customer Settings checkbox.
Configure the settings as shown below and click Apply Custom Settings.
Device Lookback

Device Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on a standard device match.
Modeled Lookback

Modeled Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on a Modeled-based match.
IP Lookback

IP Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on an IP-based match.
Partial IP Lookback

Partial IP Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on a Partial IP-based match.
Device Attribution Behavior
Standard
Device Attribution Behavior determines whether modeled matching will be attempted if a Device ID is present on click. The Standard setting will not attempt modeled attribution if a Device ID is present on click. The Inclusive setting will attempt modeled attribution on all clicks.
Device Lookback

Device Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on a standard device match.
Modeled Lookback

Modeled Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on a Modeled-based match.
IP and Partial IP Lookback
Disabled
IP and Partial IP Lookback determines how far back, from the time of install, to consider engagements for attribution on an IP or Partial IP based match.
Device Attribution Behavior
Standard
Device Attribution Behavior determines whether modeled matching will be attempted if a Device ID is present on click. The Standard setting will not attempt modeled attribution if a Device ID is present on click. The Inclusive setting will attempt modeled attribution on all clicks.
Modeled Attribution Tier
Standard
Modeled Attribution Tier determines the Modeled validation configuration. The Standard setting validates based on a combination of IP Address and User Agent. The Full IP Address setting validates based on the IP Address, regardless of the User Agent. The Partial IP Address setting validates based on the first three stanzas of the IP Address.

Set Up Cost Tracking
To set up cost tracking:
Go to Cost→Configuration and click + Add a Media Partner. The New Media Partner window appears.
From the Media Partner dropdown list, select Digital Turbine.
Enter the required values as described below:
Configuration Name
The recommended value is Digital Turbine.
Client ID
Value provided by your Digital Turbine representative.
Client Secret
Value provided by your Digital Turbine representative.
Product
-dtgrowth
Product must be written in lowercase.
Time Zone
Select the desired reporting timezone.
Currency
Select the desired reporting currency.
Notifications Add an email(s)
For notifications regarding cost.
Enable the Active toggle.
Click Save. The lookback windows are configured.
